Nice Airport → Val d'Isère transfer

Four hundred and fifty-five kilometres, about five and a half hours. Val d'Isère sits at the head of the Tarentaise at nearly eighteen hundred metres, and the final hour is spent on a narrow mountain road climbing from Bourg-Saint-Maurice. In winter, changeover Saturdays concentrate all the northern Alps traffic onto the same roads, which can add an hour or more: we adjust the departure time accordingly rather than quote an unrealistic one. The route climbs via the Durance or via Grenoble depending on conditions. The vehicle matters doubly here: for comfort over five and a half hours, and for volume — ski bags, snowboards and a week's luggage do not fit in a saloon car. The van is the default choice on this route.

The indicative rate is 819 € one way in a saloon car — 455 kilometres at 1.8 € per kilometre. That covers pick-up at your address or in the arrivals hall, flight or train tracking, waiting time if your transport is late, luggage and tolls.
