Marseille Saint-Charles Station: how the pick-up works
Marseille Saint-Charles is the great rail hub of the south: TGV from Paris in three hours, services to Lyon, Bordeaux, Geneva and Italy. From the Riviera it serves two purposes. The first is a direct Marseille–Nice or Marseille–Cannes journey by car, about two hours, when the stopping regional service will not do or when travelling in a group with luggage. The second is a connection: arriving by TGV at Saint-Charles and continuing to the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, an hour and forty away, or into the western Var. The station sits high, with its monumental staircase; vehicle access is round the back, at Square Narvik, where the drop-off is regulated. The meeting point is fixed when you book.
